Jean Paul is plagued by imprecise and unfathomable mental illness. In the village where he was born and raised in the mountains of western Cameroon, dying chained to a tree. By the will of his own family and with the approval of local authorities, by day he is forced to live bound, without food or water. Jean, "the strongest man in the village, which has taken over, tells the story of Jean Paul, including the evil eye and magical beliefs, and speaks of an evil ring.
